Hi! I’m Adam Martin Co-Founder of Savory Bites Daily | Recipe Blogger | Nutrition Coach | Age 42 New York City-based food enthusiast who believes that healthy eating shouldn’t mean sacrificing flavor or spending hours in the kitchen.
My Story
My relationship with food started in chaos. Growing up in a household where takeout was the norm and vegetables were an afterthought, I thought “healthy” meant bland and boring. Fast forward to my early thirties, when I was working 70-hour weeks in corporate finance, surviving on energy drinks and whatever I could grab from the deli downstairs. My idea of cooking was microwaving frozen dinners while answering emails.
Everything changed when I met Sarah, my now business partner and wife. She’d grown up in a family where Sunday meal prep was sacred, and watching her transform simple ingredients into something incredible sparked something in me. I started paying attention to how different foods made me feel – and more importantly, how the processed stuff I’d been eating was making me feel terrible.
What began as curiosity turned into obsession. I started experimenting in our tiny Manhattan kitchen, creating recipes that packed serious nutrition without requiring a culinary degree or three hours of prep time. My friends became my willing taste testers, and their reactions told me I was onto something special.

The Turning Point
The moment everything clicked was during a particularly stressful week in 2018. I’d been working on a major deal, barely sleeping, and living off coffee and whatever was closest. By Thursday, I felt like I was going to collapse. Sarah challenged me to spend just 30 minutes that Sunday creating something nourishing for the week ahead.
I remember standing in our kitchen that afternoon, dicing vegetables for what would become my signature Mediterranean quinoa power bowls. The rhythm of chopping, the smell of roasted garlic and herbs filling our apartment – it was the first time in months I’d felt truly present. When I took that first bite, I realized I’d been starving myself without even knowing it. Not just for nutrients, but for real, intentional nourishment.
That week, I had more energy than I’d felt in years. My colleagues noticed. My productivity soared. More importantly, I rediscovered joy in something as simple as eating. That’s when I knew I had to share this with others who were stuck in the same cycle I’d been trapped in.
What I Learned the Hard Way
Let me be honest – my first attempts at “healthy cooking” were disasters. I thought healthy meant removing everything that tasted good. My kale smoothies could strip paint, and my quinoa salads had the personality of cardboard. I was so focused on hitting nutritional targets that I forgot food is supposed to be enjoyable.
I also learned that perfection is the enemy of progress. I spent months trying to create the “perfect” meal prep system, color-coding containers and calculating macros down to the gram. All that obsessing just made me anxious about food again. Some weeks I’d give up entirely and go back to ordering seamless every night.
The biggest lesson was understanding that sustainable healthy eating isn’t about following someone else’s rules – it’s about finding what works for your life, your schedule, and your taste buds. It took me way too long to realize that a “good enough” home-cooked meal beats the “perfect” takeout order every single time.
My Approach Now
These days, my philosophy is simple: real food, bold flavors, practical execution. I focus on recipes that deliver maximum nutrition and taste with minimal complexity. Every recipe I create has to pass the “Tuesday night test” – meaning it’s something I’d actually want to make and eat when I’m tired, stressed, and have twenty other things on my mind.
I’m obsessed with flavor stacking – layering herbs, spices, and umami-rich ingredients to create dishes that happen to be healthy rather than dishes that taste healthy. I want people to forget they’re eating something nutritious because they’re too busy enjoying every bite.
My coaching approach centers on building systems, not following strict rules. We work together to identify your biggest obstacles – whether that’s time, skill, or just plain food boredom – and create personalized strategies that fit into your actual life, not some idealized version of it.
What I Believe
- Healthy food should taste incredible, not like punishment
- The best meal plan is the one you’ll actually follow
- Cooking skills are life skills – everyone deserves to feel confident in the kitchen
- Nutrition is important, but so is pleasure and satisfaction
- Small, consistent changes beat dramatic overhauls every time
- The right recipe can turn anyone into a confident home cook

A Little More About Me
When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me exploring NYC’s incredible food scene with Sarah, always on the hunt for flavor combinations that might inspire our next recipe. I’m slightly obsessed with my cast iron pan collection and have strong opinions about the proper way to store fresh herbs (pro tip: treat them like flowers).
I’m also a coffee enthusiast who believes the perfect espresso is worth waking up early for, and I’ve been known to plan entire weekend trips around visiting farmers markets in different neighborhoods.
